Hear the Drums?

Dancing and Wrestling

The sound of drumming could be heard at a great distance from the dances, held in Yelwa and in surrounding hamlets. The wrestling contests were no less powerful, intense heat and blinding sun notwithstanding. Children learned by watching their elders, and joining in as they were able.
